The RAS Board has reconvened and has begun preliminary preparations for RAS 2010. For the upcoming year, We wish to further strengthen the relationship between Raas/Garba competitions in an alliance that enables competitions to support and promote one another through similar cause, celebration, and passion. The RAS Board will continue to foster the exploding network of event organizers and dancers who ingeniously fuse modernity with tradition and redefine our culture.
 
The first Raas Nationals Championship was an event beyond any of our wildest dreams.  And, we can’t thank the Raas/Garba Community enough for its invaluable support. It was an absolute pleasure to meet all the wonderful people throughout this past year and we look forward to meeting many more of you. We are fully confident that this upcoming season will, once again, break boundaries and push limits. RAS 2010 is set to occur in Dallas, Texas. Details on date, venue, and hotel coming soon.

This year, any and all college-level Raas/Garba competitions must meet the following eligibility guidelines in order to claim a Raas All-Stars Bid.

Eligibility guidelines for a RAS BID:
1. At the bid, raas/garba teams can ONLY compete against raas/garba teams.
2. The competition must be before Monday, March 8, 2010.

Furthermore, all interested competitions must send us the following information for review.

1. Name of Competition
2. Year established
3. Affiliated college or university, if applicable
4. Proposed date and location of competition.
5. Mission Statement
6. Charity, if applicable
7. Director name, email and phone.
8. Website address

The RAS board will disclose the 2009-2010 RAS BID line-up on July 15th, 2009.

THE inaugural Filmi-Fusion Championships will be held in Spring 2010, presented by the Desi Dance Alliance.

9 Total Teams will be competing for the LARGEST Grand Prize of any Filmi-Fusion competition AND the honor of being called CHAMPIONS! —— 7 Bids will be given to 1st Place Teams from across the country and 2 other teams will be chosen by the viewers and management team.  Get in touch with us for more details…

We are all former dancers who have competed at almost every type of competition including Phillyfest, Dance Fusion, BOB, Raas Chaos, Garbafest, Miami Mayhem, etc..We also have experience in organizing large scale competitions from the past. And most of all, we are dedicated to making sure that each and every individual dancer has the best weekend of their lives! This competition is being organized FOR the dancers .. BY the dancers!

The Wanted Ashiqz started out in 2002 as a non-competitive team comprising of five individuals who shared one common interest. Over the years, that common interest has transformed into an undying passion for dance and the once mere team of five has now evolved into a brotherhood of many. Our artistic repertoire includes Hip-Hop, Jazz, Bhangra and Garba as we often incorporate western elements into a predominantly Bollywood influenced art form. Having performed for and alongside artists like Shahrukh Khan, Bipasha Basu, Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Sonali Bendre, RDB, Sukhbir and UK artists such as Raghav, Jay Sean and Juggy D, the Wanted Ashiqz have created a niche fame for themselves amongst many fans all across the US.

1. Auditionees will be asked to perform a minimum of one minute solo in front of the Wanted Ashiqz.
2. Auditionees must bring their own music on a CD which they will perform to.
3. Auditionees will be asked to learn a small choreographed routine taught by WA in 30 minutes and will be asked to perform it in small groups.
4. Each auditonee will have an interview after their auditions with the Wanted Ashiqz.
