Attention all Indian classical dance teams!
UMD Moksha proudly presents its very own Indian classical dance competition to be held exclusively at College Park next spring: MAYURI 2013, March 9th at Hoff Theater.
After placing 1st at Laasya 2010 and 2012, UMD Moksha earned the honor of hosting the following year’s Laasya at their campus in College Park, MD. Hosting Laasya 2011 was such a privilege, and inspired Moksha to take on a larger role in advancing the Indian classical dance circuit. So, after their 1st place win at Laasya 2012, UMD Moksha decided to create their own competition. With more opportunities for showcasing this unique art, UMD Moksha hopes to expand the interest for Indian classical dance and provide teams a venue to flourish, learn, and compete as dancers, artists, and students.
