BA is fine, we actually did extremely well in terms of crowd. Keep in mind this is BA's third year and still going strong. It's more fun traveling to city to city, exposing communities, and showcase fresh talent in different cities. We're the only organization to pull this off and we'll continue to do so. The past couple weeks we've had a few cities and organizations, sponsors contacted us for the BA Event Partnership Program, this is great news for us. Get excited for 2013!

The first Bid announcement will be this coming Monday, stay tuned.

You will have 0 problems on ticket sales in Arizona. There's a reason that concerts like Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, and Hariharan have been able to sell BIG. There are Indians here and there has NOT been a *dance* event of this caliber to hit Phoenix. If BA was to be here, you would be bringing in something that this state has never seen before...which would go virallll and sell like no other.

If that's the only concern, then AZ seems like a pretty HOTTTT choice!

If you want to continue moving, what you guys should do is go to the city of the winning team! For Example, since UCSD won, BA should be in San Diego next year. And so on. This gives every team a much larger prize for BA by having BA move to their home city. I'm sure the soon to be alumni of that winning team would love to join the BA staff the following year.

^That would be a pretty cool idea! And since BA was already in San Diego in 2011, you should go to the homestate of the runner-ups :)

I think this is a really good idea as well. Even if a team doesn't make BA the following year, at least they will have the opportunity to still be a part of it (planning wise or liaison wise) and still be able to attend, as a prize of winning the year before. 8) 8)

Lol alright, so in defense of Boston BA has never been in Boston. It was in terrible Dorchester and the teams stayed in a hotel in bumblefudge middle of nowhere. Local people who wanted to go either had to catch a bus from Boston, or take what was like a $30+ dollar cab.

That's like saying a competition is in New York City, then hosting it in Long Island. -_-
Not that LI is ghetto, just the physical equivalent in distance.

Maybe not BA this year but any dance comp that comes to Boston should make a killing if operate efficiently. Huge number of colleges and dance teams. Freaking BU by itself has a bhangra team, raas team, classical team, coed fusion, all guys fusion, all girls fusion, HFD, Indian Acapella.

I'm confused as to why we are looking over HOLLYWOOD or LOS ANGELES in general...A place where the Indian population is not only huge but is very interested in Bollywood. Just look at the successes of Jhoomti Shaam, a competition that has been thriving for years. Furthermore, look at the caliber and amount of California teams that have and maybe will again be a part of this BA. If you're looking for an explanation that sells you all on the actual city, well I don't know how to help you....it's Los Angeles (Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Sunset Blvd, Rodeo Drive, Hollywood, Universal Studios, I mean....I could go on for days). What else are you looking for?

Jhalak - The LARGEST South Asian talent show in Texas!

Austin would be a great place for Bollywood America would be held.

As both myself and Raj mentioned on the BA thread, Austin is home to one of the largest cultural melting pots in the nation! UT has over 50,000 students from all different walks of life. We have over 10 South Asian dance/a capella teams, 8 Greek Organizations, and two enourmous South Asian organizations. Furthermore, Austin also features a great night life scene with the incredible 6th street!

Austin is in the middle of both Dallas and Houston. Moreover, both Jhalak and ISA Talent show have had no issue selling out auditoriums of 1,100+!

Why not Austin? :)
