We would like to inform you all that due to certain circumstances NYU Pandemonium will no longer be competing at Elite 8 Naach Invitational 2012.

We are very excited to announce our final invitee to Elite 8 Naach Invitational: Maryland Dhoom from College Park, MD!

Sucks NYU Pandas won't make it out, but this pick has ticket sales written all over it, no legacy or anything, nonetheless good luck maryland dhoom!

Well... this is Euphrek Adaa's first year competing. I don't think it's about legacy anymore. and Dhoom obviously has less time than the other teams to prepare for this show, it's pretty chill of them to accept the invitation. they must be working hard. Congrats Dhoom!

I thought the point of elite 8 was to pick teams with legacy? A huge congrats to Maryland dhoom for being picked, but I don’t see the legacy here. That’s the second pick(after Euphorek Ada) not based on legacy. Not saying that either team is not qualified, but if the purpose was to pick the ‘most elite teams’ from the past history, there are many other teams that deserved to be chosen. And if the organizers are looking to add diversity with all-girls teams, then I think that sju raaz or even bu chankaar should have been chosen. I’m with TenuPathahai, ticket sales for sure.

I'm guessing a lot of teams were done for the year or could not make it due to exams or travel cost.

Since E8 was not picking teams based on how they did this year (like BA and BOB does through bids), they should have had their event in Jan or even March instead of April. It makes sense to be in April if the team's current performance plays a role in being selected. But that is not the case.

more like the kinda sorta Elite 8 but not really...teams like sju or bu probably declined their offer to compete and thats why it fell to maryland dhoom...not looking forward to this one besides a couple performances
there should be a clause in the contract that teams cant drop out past a certain point...def not cool for teams like panda and zor to drop out so late...fizaa on the other hand dropped out when they were still announcing teams so its ok...they should make teams pay a deposit that they return if they compete

circumstances develop and teams have to drop out - something you cannot control, but apparently there is a clause that if you drop out after accepting you are banned from receiving an invite the following year so zor/fizaa/panda automatically out next year...
