This has been mentioned before, but I'm afraid this will be a rehash of the BOB and BA performances we see earlier in April. I hope this competition does not have the same teams and has professional troupes as well or something. Unless they come out with completely different teams, this competition does not serve a purpose.

Unless we see different teams here. BA and BOB will have all the teams that placed first this year (not including management/viewer's choce), however Elite 8 bases it's choices on a team's history. Some of the teams will likely overlap in all 3 competitions, but other teams that make it to Elite 8 might not be great to start off the year and won't win bids to BOB/BA, but with 6 months to prepare for this competition, even teams that are rebuilding should be able to train their dancers and put together solid performances by April 28th.

Yup, its based on historic wins. I forsee Jhalak, Dhamaka, Azaad/Ishaara and Panda (lol) as possible invites.

I guess I'm missing the purpose of all competitions then... we should all just have one competition every year then (sarcasm).

Agree with Fareed that this should bring in other teams that have been historically strong but might not win a bid. Pandas dont exist anymore unfortunately so not counting them. I think teams are going to be selected based on the longevity and consistency in competing that they have had over the last five or so years that fusion has really evolved and come up.

Predictions

1 Wanted Ashiqz. The only question is will they do it now that they have clearly moved on beyond the desi circuit to things like WoD.
2 Azaad. duh.
3 Fizaa. 2nd at BA seems to be too strong to deny but it was their first year like this.
4 Jhalak. So many placings, but that was some time ago. I think their reputation might get them in.
5 UCLA.
6 BSB.
7 Dhamaka. Maybe Zahanat.
8 mystery team I can't decide oovoooooo mysteryyyyy

No matter what happens some deserving team will not make it, so I am very excited to see the lineup revealed.

I really hope dhamaka gets invited. After watching their videos today (PF both years and BOB oh so long ago) they are fucking NASTY. Watched their frat house theme and was blown away. They're so good! Even if a lil low on the x-factor

it would be a really crazy month for teams that make it into all three... with BOB and BA, at this rate we'll have a new "final" competition every year

Based on History/Legacy since thats how the first E8 Bhangra was:

1. UCB Azaad
2. BroadStreetBaadshahz
3. RU Sapa
4. Drexel Jhalak
5. Pandas (if they still compete)
6. WA (unless they're def done with our circuit)
7. open to anyone with somewhat of a legacy (fizaa/jalwa/nasha/zor/raaz)
8. ^ same as 7

It would be awesome to see dhamaka but i'm not sure what wins they've had, (they've had amazing performances but my assumption is E8 legacy is based on wins), anyone know wins/placings?

but if pandas and WA are gone then that leaves 4 more open spots/ishaara is past the circuit too, so I guess teh teams with somewhat of a legacy will get in now.
